Manage the EHS compliance efforts in a large manufacturing environment potentially spanning multiple buildings with a focus on meeting KPI’s for safety, quality, production, and more.
Job Duties:
· Manage and promote practices and processes intended to provide safe products which meet company quality standards, and laws/regulations
· Lead initiatives to achieve goals specific to safety, quality, efficiency, and development
· Monitor KPI’s to anticipate and correct trends which would compromise achievement of targets
· Lead and promote GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
· Consult with all regulatory agencies, manage audits, and monitor and ensure compliance
· Direct, develop, and deliver EHS training programs
· Manage EHS programs including cost control/reduction and accident prevention/reduction.
· Develop, implement, and coordinate all Industrial Hygiene initiatives and activities, as well as fire prevention and ergonomic programs
· Track, approve and maintain chemical inventories for hazard notification
· Assist in identifying and developing audit/inspection criteria which are effective in preventing or controlling deficient or problematic processes
· Ensure all EHS issues identified during internal/external audits and Safety Committee audits are resolved
· Provide support for incident investigations and cause analysis
· Collaborate with local Human Resources Manager about matters pertaining to Worker’s Compensation and Early Return to Work Program
Qualifications Preferred:
· Bachelor’s degree required – Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or other science field is preferred
· Five (5) years of experience managing EHS initiatives
· Five (5) years of supervisory or management experience required
· Experience in manufacturing environment
· Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidance
· Experience in evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
· Experience establishing proactive Ergonomics Program
· Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to create reports, presentations, and more
· Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification – Preferred
