Maintain and ensure compliance with the following programs: Hazardous materials Handling, SPCC, Storm water, Waste Water, Title V, Operation Clean Sweep, recycling

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with good manufacturing (GMP) as required.
  • Comply with ALL EHS policies and procedures as required.
  • Gather and maintain documentation and logs of hazardous waste, spill response, air emissions, samples as required by programs
  • Communicate with management about any potential permit deviation as soon as feasible possible.
  • Assist with the completion of specific and regulatory inspections and sampling as required.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and inspection forms.
  • Perform general maintenance duties and maintain in-house recycling equipment as assigned.
  • Track and keep logs of incoming and outgoing recycling materials reclaimed to include; metal, chemicals, foam and e-waste.

Qualifications:

  • Hazardous waste handling certification (40 hr.)
  • DOT training
  • 2 years of experience in hazardous waste
  • Light maintenance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Experience with utility equipment.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Must be able to maintain chemical inventory.
  • Must be able to monitor and document chemical usage.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste manifest process
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to be on-call 24/7 and work weekends
  • Exposure to extreme heat, loud noise, dirt, dust, odors, and fumes is probable
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areas
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Physically able to frequently lift and carry objects from 10 up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work at elevated heights.
  • Frequently walk when performing all relevant job functions.
  • Must be able to occasionally push/pull when moving 55-gallon drums of chemical.
  • Frequently, walk while doing audits and inspections.
  • Occasionally climb ladders to check pits.
  • Occasionally talk and hear when receiving/giving instructions to subordinates and when communicating with Supervisors.
  • Occasionally utilize color vision when checking color of received products.
  • Frequently, load and unload trucks – physically and or utilize a forklift.
