Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting and optimizing Allen Bradley PLC systems and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of control systems and a proven track record in resolving complex issues related to PLCs and VFDs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, and Implement Control Systems: Develop and implement control strategies for industrial automation systems, focusing on Allen Bradley PLC platforms.
- Troubleshoot PLC and VFD Issues: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Allen Bradley PLCs and VFDs, including programming, configuration, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Optimize System Performance: Analyze system performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support ongoing operations and address control system challenges.
- Develop and Maintain Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including control system schematics, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure Compliance and Standards: Ensure that control systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct Training and Mentoring: Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians on control systems and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls engineering with a strong focus on Allen Bradley PLC systems and VFDs.
- Expertise in PLC Programming: Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs (e.g., ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and associated software (e.g., RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000).
- VFD Troubleshooting: Extensive experience in configuring and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) from various manufacturers.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices related to industrial automation and control systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification: Professional certifications related to controls engineering or automation (e.g., Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST)).
- Additional Skills: Experience with other control system platforms and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
