Senior Project Manager – Product Development
Position Summary:
Our client is looking for a Project Manager who organizes, leads, and oversees the design and development of assigned products. The Senior Project Manager ensures multiple high-risk and complex projects are completed in alignment with specifications, timeline, and budget expectations.
Responsibilities/skills:
- Review project plans and proposals, working with management to develop clear objectives.
- Define project responsibilities by outlining phases, tasks, and deliverables.
- Establish and manage project schedules and timelines by analyzing specifications and resource requirements.
- Control and monitor project execution, including changes in design, plans, and schedules to drive optimal outcomes.
- Monitor costs and capital expenditures; recommend corrective actions if budgets are exceeded.
- Partner with marketing to determine product requirements and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to allocate internal and external technical resources.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, and operations to identify and resolve production and sourcing issues.
- Facilitate cross-departmental activities to ensure milestone completion and product readiness.
- Lead design qualification, field testing, and production testing plans and metrics.
- Coordinate the transfer of new products into production environments.
- Conduct training for internal stakeholders, including customer service teams, on new product features.
- Evaluate overall project success and implement process improvements where needed.
- Serve as a mentor and knowledge resource to less experienced project managers.
- Promote best practices in project management and problem-solving across the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in engineering project management, with proven experience leading product development initiatives, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional resources.
