Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Capital Programs Director to lead and oversee capital programs and projects across the organization. This role will work closely with Engineering Centers of Excellence and Services teams to develop, plan, prioritize, and execute projects that align with strategic objectives. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a track record of delivering complex projects, driving collaboration, and promoting organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with leadership to align engineering strategies with the company’s vision and goals.
- Project Management: Oversee major capital projects, ensuring alignment with objectives, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
- Systems and Processes: Maintain and continuously improve systems for managing capital projects efficiently.
- Effective Communication: Facilitate collaboration between engineering and non-engineering departments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders regarding project progress and challenges.
- Insightful Recommendations: Deliver actionable insights to improve products, services, and processes.
- Strategic Communications: Support and contribute to the company’s strategic communications initiatives.
- Data Analysis: Provide data-driven insights to guide project planning and decision-making.
- Project Planning: Collaborate with leadership to review, refine, and finalize project plans.
- Change and Risk Management: Identify potential risks and manage change mitigation efforts proactively.
- Progress Reporting: Regularly report project updates, challenges, and successes to leadership.
- Governance Guidance: Develop governance frameworks while maintaining flexibility in execution.
- Goal Setting: Establish and communicate departmental goals aligned with company strategy.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading the development and execution of strategic plans for large engineering departments or organizations.
- Successful track record of managing and completing large, complex engineering projects from concept through production.
- Knowledge of business and management principles including planning, resource allocation, cost analysis, budgeting, and leadership.
- Previous management experience with strong leadership abilities.
- Experience presenting information effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally.
